* SPECIAL REQUEST *

The Pennsylvania State Police Need YOUR help in solving this crime.

On July 5, 2007, at approximately 0435 hrs., a gold Nissan Quest minivan pulled into an emergency pull-off area at mile marker 31 on the north shoulder of Interstate 78 westbound in Windsor Twp., Berks County.  A westbound tractor-trailer was in the right lane, when it veered into the pull-off area and side-swiped the stopped van.  After impact, the tractor-trailer continued west on I78.  Severely injured in the crash was 10 year old Melissa Johnson, who later died of her injuries.  A passenger in the Nissan described the striking tractor-trailer as orange with black lettering which read “Roadway”.  The investigation into the hit and run death of Melissa Johnson is on-going, and anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg toll free at 1-877-523-6373 or Crime Alert Berks County at:
